Finsbury Park Carpet Cleaners Terms and Conditions

Carpet cleaning technician beginning a service with equipment readyThese Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Finsbury Park Carpet Cleaners provides domestic and commercial carpet cleaning services in the UK. By making a booking, confirming an appointment, or allowing a service to proceed, the customer agrees to be bound by these terms. For clarity, references to “we”, “us”, and “our” mean Finsbury Park Carpet Cleaners, and references to “you” or “the customer” mean the person requesting or receiving the service. These terms are intended to be fair, transparent, and consistent with applicable UK consumer law.

Our carpet cleaning services may include, without limitation, standard carpet cleaning, stain treatment, hot water extraction, low-moisture cleaning, spot treatment, deodorising, and associated pre-treatment processes. The precise scope of work is agreed at the time of booking or upon inspection before the service begins. Any work that falls outside the agreed scope may be treated as an additional service and may involve extra charges. Customers should ensure that the areas to be cleaned are reasonably accessible and that any special requirements are disclosed in advance.

Professional carpet cleaning appointment with pre-treatment processThese terms apply to all bookings made with Finsbury Park Carpet Cleaners, whether arranged by telephone, email, online form, or any other accepted method. We reserve the right to update or amend these terms from time to time. The version in force at the time of your booking will normally apply to that service, unless a change is required by law or is otherwise agreed in writing. It is the customer’s responsibility to review the relevant terms before confirming a booking.

Booking Process

Bookings are subject to availability and are only confirmed once we have accepted the request and, where relevant, received any required deposit or prepayment. A booking request does not guarantee an appointment. When you request a carpet cleaning service, you should provide accurate details including the property type, approximate room sizes, access restrictions, parking limitations, flooring condition, and any stains, odours, or material sensitivities that may affect the work. This information helps us provide a suitable quotation and assign the appropriate equipment and time slot.

Upon booking, we may issue an estimate or quotation based on the information supplied. Any quotation is typically based on the details available at that time and may be revised if the actual condition of the carpets, access to the premises, or the work required differs from what was originally described. If we arrive and the service cannot be completed as planned due to inaccurate information, inaccessible premises, unsafe conditions, or the customer’s failure to prepare the area as reasonably requested, we may charge a call-out fee or cancellation fee where appropriate and lawful.

Carpet cleaning payment and service agreement concept

Payments and Charges

All prices are stated in pounds sterling unless otherwise agreed. Prices may be quoted as fixed fees, room-based rates, area-based rates, or hourly charges depending on the nature of the work. Where the service is charged on the basis of a quotation, the quoted price applies to the agreed scope only. If additional work is requested on the day, or if extra treatment is needed due to the condition of the carpets, the price may increase accordingly. We will normally explain any variation before proceeding, where reasonably practicable.

Payment terms will be confirmed during the booking process. Unless agreed otherwise, payment is due on completion of the service. We may request a deposit or full prepayment for certain bookings, larger jobs, repeated cancellations, or where specialist materials are required. Accepted payment methods may include bank transfer, debit card, credit card, or other methods we make available from time to time. Any payment transaction fees imposed by the customer’s payment provider remain the customer’s responsibility unless we agree otherwise in writing.

If payment is not made by the due date, we reserve the right to charge interest on overdue sums at the statutory rate applicable under UK law, together with any reasonable costs incurred in pursuing the debt. We also reserve the right to suspend or refuse future services until outstanding balances have been settled. The customer is responsible for ensuring that payment is made by an authorised person and that any business or landlord arrangements are settled in advance if the invoice is not to be addressed directly to the occupier.

Cancellations, Rescheduling, and Access

We understand that plans may change. If you need to cancel or reschedule a Finsbury Park Carpet Cleaners appointment, you should notify us as soon as possible. Where sufficient notice is provided, we may offer a new appointment without charge, subject to availability. If the cancellation is made within a short period before the appointment, or if our team is already en route or on site, a cancellation fee may apply to cover lost time, travel, and preparation costs.

The customer must provide safe and reasonable access to the property at the agreed time. If we are unable to enter the premises, if access is delayed unreasonably, or if the service cannot commence because the customer is absent without prior arrangement, this may be treated as a late cancellation or failed appointment. If parking, entry codes, concierge procedures, or other access arrangements are required, these should be arranged in advance. Delays caused by access issues may result in additional waiting charges where lawful and justified.

We may reschedule or cancel a booking in the event of illness, staff unavailability, unsafe working conditions, equipment failure, severe weather, or any event beyond our reasonable control. In such cases, we will seek to offer an alternative appointment. Our liability for cancellation in these circumstances is limited to the refund of any sums paid in advance for the cancelled service, unless otherwise required by law.

Customer Responsibilities

Before the service begins, you should remove fragile items, valuables, breakables, and personal belongings from the areas to be cleaned. You should also advise us of any special carpet fibres, underlays, previous treatments, damp patches, colour fastness concerns, or pre-existing damage. The customer is responsible for ensuring that the area is suitable for cleaning and that any furniture movement requested is within the agreed scope. If heavy furniture must be moved, we may decline to do so or may do so only at the customer’s risk and with prior agreement.

We may ask you to test a discreet area before proceeding with certain stain treatments or cleaning methods. Some carpets, dyes, backings, or adhesive materials may react unpredictably to cleaning agents or moisture. The customer accepts that results can vary and that no specific outcome can be guaranteed unless expressly stated in writing. Natural wear, pre-existing staining, permanent marking, fibre distortion, and shading may limit the result achieved by any carpet cleaning company.

Customer property preparation before carpet cleaning serviceCustomers must ensure that pets and children are kept safely away from the working area during the service and until the carpet is dry and safe to use. We may also require adequate ventilation and access to electricity or water where necessary. If the customer fails to comply with reasonable instructions that are intended to support safety or service quality, we may suspend or stop the work without liability for the resulting delay or incomplete outcome.

Liability and Limitations

We will perform our services with reasonable care and skill in accordance with UK consumer legislation. However, liability is limited to loss or damage that is reasonably foreseeable and directly caused by our negligence or breach of contract. We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law. This statement is intended to reflect the proper legal position and does not affect statutory rights.

We are not responsible for pre-existing defects, hidden damage, poor carpet installation, weakened fibres, unstable underlay, mould, structural issues, or defects caused by age, wear, or prior treatment. Where carpets or surrounding surfaces are already fragile or compromised, cleaning may reveal or contribute to further deterioration even when carried out carefully. The customer accepts that some marks, odours, or stains may not be fully removable and that certain cleaning processes can alter texture, pile direction, or drying appearance.

Except where prohibited by law, our total liability for any claim arising from a particular service is limited to the amount paid for that service. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit, loss of business, inconvenience, missed appointments with third parties, or temporary inability to use the cleaned area. If any item is moved by us at the customer’s request and damage occurs due to instability, hidden weakness, or improper assembly, our responsibility is limited to losses caused by our proven negligence.

Waste Regulations and Environmental Compliance

We operate in accordance with applicable UK waste management and environmental obligations. Any waste generated as part of the service, such as used towels, packaging, small amounts of residue, or other cleaning-related materials, will be handled responsibly. We may separate, store, transport, and dispose of waste in line with relevant regulations and good industry practice. Where specialist disposal is required, we may charge additional fees if these were not included in the original quotation.

Customers must not ask us to dispose of hazardous substances, illicit materials, biohazards, or items that fall outside the scope of ordinary carpet cleaning waste unless we have expressly agreed in writing and are legally permitted to do so. If we discover materials that may be hazardous or regulated, we may pause work and request further instructions or refuse to proceed. Any such refusal will not constitute a breach of contract where the situation involves legal, health, or safety concerns.

Responsible waste handling during a UK carpet cleaning serviceWe aim to use cleaning methods and products that are suitable for the task and responsible from an environmental standpoint. However, some services may require detergents, stain removers, or antimicrobial treatments with specific disposal or handling requirements. The customer agrees not to reuse, tamper with, or dispose of any professional chemicals supplied by us in a way that could cause harm or breach environmental regulations.

Complaints, Force Majeure, and Governing Law

If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of the service, you should notify us within a reasonable time after completion so that we may investigate and, where appropriate, propose a remedy. Any complaint should include sufficient detail to enable us to assess the issue. We may request photographs, a description of the concern, and an opportunity to inspect the relevant area. Complaints made long after the service may be more difficult to verify, especially where the carpet has been used, re-soiled, or altered by third parties.

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, transport disruption, utility outages, industrial action, supply shortages, or emergency public health measures. Where such events affect performance, we will use reasonable efforts to rearrange the appointment or agree a revised service date. Neither party will be liable for failure to perform obligations that are directly affected by a force majeure event, provided reasonable steps are taken to mitigate the impact.

These Terms and Conditions and any dispute or claim arising from them, whether contractual or non-contractual, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer law provides otherwise. If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law. By booking with Finsbury Park Carpet Cleaners, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these terms.
